The people of Thomson, Illinois are happy that their under-used prison will soon house suspected Muslim terrorists now being held at Guantanamo Bay. They are happy because they believe the transfer will be an economic boon to their town, which has suffered under the financial meltdown that has beaten down most of the United States, and folks are optimistic about the predictions that say the plan will bring in about 2000 jobs and $1 billion.

No comment is needed to explain the danger inherent in this foolishness, but the citizens of Thomson say loudly and proudly that they are not afraid. Tough economic times can make a lot of folks suspend common sense when a glimmer of hope appears, and a couple thousand jobs and a pile of federal money is more than a glimmer.

But let’s consider a best-case scenario, one minus the potential bloodshed from terrorists in America’s heartland. The prisoners are Muslims. This means that they will require special handling, and Muslims will insist that the health and comfort of the prisoners can be assured only by other Muslims. At Gitmo, Muslim chaplains see to the religious needs of the prisoners, and similar accommodations will have to be made in Thomson. But Gitmo is a military installation; the prison at Thomson is a civilian facility. The military chaplains will probably be replaced by regular mullahs who are not subject to a military code of conduct and have allegiance to nothing but Islam. (Paranoid, you say? Tell that to the survivors and the families of the victims of the Ft. Hood massacre.) Are the people of Thomson prepared to hear the Muslim call to prayer broadcast five times a day every day, when they themselves are not allowed to set up a Nativity scene at Christmas? Maybe they can use their new-found wealth to buy ear plugs. Furthermore, a Muslim mullah will require housing for himself and his family, and the people of Thomson will have to accommodate the mullah’s family. Furthermore, the prisoners have special dietary needs that can be properly filled only by Muslim food handlers - who will also take their families to Thomson. Soon, the public schools will be confronted with Muslim students, and the children of American citizens will be required to acquiesce to and absorb the sensibilities of the foreigners in their midst. All this in a small town that has experienced Islam only via flat screen televisions.

I could continue with this, but you see the trend. Indeed, you’ve already seen the trend; whenever foreigners begin to mass in American towns, American citizens are called upon, even required, to sacrifice their community standards and traditions to give way to the aliens. Refusal to do so is the direct route to accusations of racism, xenophobia, intolerance, and $PLC/ACLJew lawsuits.

Nothing good can come from this plan. Everything I’ve described is as sure to happen as is the sunrise. And mind you, that’s a best case scenario. Whether Thomson, Illinois changes because of bloodshed or because of Muslim immigration doesn’t matter. With the decision to take in Muslim prisoners, the people of Thomson have ensured that their town will never again be an American town. It’s only a matter of time before Americans (i.e., White people) are the minority. Another American town bites the dust. But if the people of Thomson, Illinois are hell-bent to sell their town’s future for a handful of federal reserve notes, then they are truly fools, and they deserve what they will get.
