Redemption

I can not adequately express my profound appreciation for the words of encouragement, affection, and offers of assistance directed to myself and my family. With all the sincerity in my heart, I thank all you for your friendship and your prayers. European-American Kinists are the finest people in the world, and the Kinists of this site are the finest Kinists of all. God bless you all.

By all reckonings, I am recovering well. The strength of my right side is increasing; I can almost completely open my right eye; my speech is improving, although I sometimes have trouble recalling words and I sometimes have trouble getting words from my mind to my mouth; I still can’t remember how to hand-write; I have memory lapses; I tire easily. But I’m functioning well enough to work half-days, and my employer and supervisors have been graciously concerned and accommodating. My family is experiencing no financial difficulty from this episode. My assessment is that I am in good health and spirits, not at all depressed or discouraged, still popping off and cracking jokes upon my poor wife and children. Please rejoice with me and my family that I am well in health and attitude. With time and a little effort, there will come a day when you won’t even notice that I’ve had a stroke. There are no worries in Clan Smith regarding this matter, and there should be none with any of you.

Our bodies are decaying before our eyes; it has been this way since the first Adam disobeyed God’s Righteous Command.  Even the fittest and most beautiful among us are in some stage of relentless deterioration and dying. God’s Holy Word teaches us that these bodies of ours are paying the price for sin. If we believe what Holy Scripture teaches about sin’s onset and outcome, then we are obliged also to believe what Holy Scripture teaches about sin’s remedy and redress. The Second Adam, by Whose stripes we are healed, has redeemed us body and soul. There will come a day, not just for me but for all who have been redeemed by the Second Adam, “when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, death is swallowed up in victory.” Far from being cause for despair, the stroke I’ve sustained is the visible manifestation that my redemption proceeds unimpeded - and exactly as planned. It was not a random occurrence. The same God Almighty Whose all-pervasive Providence “doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least” not only knows what has happened to me, but He has foreordained it to happen. Therefore, this episode in my life has great meaning, for it has the attention of no less than the Sovereign God of All. Glory to His Name!

Again, I thank all of you for kind consideration of myself and my family. I’m grateful to you.

God bless Kinism, and God bless Kinists!

Very eloquent. In remembering our bodies are not ours, we are released from the prison of mere physicality. If the Christ is risen, we have no reason to fear. If there is no resurrection, then everyone is simply biding their time until death in various arbitrary ways. Keep the faith, bro.
