Congress Reconsiders “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”

This past week, Congress decided to consider overturning the so-called “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy that keeps queers in the military from behaving like queers. Former Marine sergeant Eric Alva, who lost a leg in Iraq, testified that that allowing fags in the military to engage in faggotry would not harm unit cohesion. He said that many of his fellow Marines knew he’s a fag, and yet they risked their lives for him when he was injured. Congress even paraded out Negro man, a retired Army Major-General, to say that insisting that queers in the military not behave like queers is treating them the same way Negros in the military were treated until President Truman integrated the military in 1948.

By the way, I’ve always wondered how Negros can tolerate being compared to fags and even put on same level as fags. Belligerent gaymosexuals routinely cast their efforts in the mold of the so-called “Civil Rights Movement,” and invoke the legacy of Michael King Jr. a.k.a. “Martin Luther King Jr.” and Rosa Parks. I also wonder why Negros let queers get away with using laws that were meant to protect Negros. For example, the 14th Amendment granted protections and citizenship to former Negro slaves after Lincoln’s War. But in 2003, the 14th amendment was cited promiscuously as the basis for the Supreme Court’s striking down of Texas’s law against sodomy. I’ve always wondered why Negros put up with fags doing that. When the Hate Crimes Act was being fought for about a year ago, many Negro preachers here in Memphrica became very angry about it, because they correctly saw it as a threat to their right to preach against faggotry as a sin, even though Negros are one of the intended beneficiary groups of the Act.

Anyhow, I remember when the debate about military women in combat was in full swing. Those who supported putting women into combat units said that it would be good for the United States military, just as it had been for the militaries of other countries, like Canada and Israel. But in 2003, the United States aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln had to send 20 female sailors home because they became pregnant at sea. Don’t tell me it didn’t affect morale or unit cohesion. I was in the Navy, and I know how everyone suffers when even one person is taken off the watch bill. And as for Canada, I don’t see anyone attacking that country, nor do I see Canada ever attacking anyone. And finally, the Israeli Defense Force no longer allows women in combat, because when male soldiers see an injured female, instinct takes over, and several men will stop fighting the enemy to help the injured female. Besides that, the Israelis noticed that when an enemy suspects they are fighting against women, that enemy will fight harder, because no male soldier wants to live with the notion that they were defeated by females. Having women in combat solidifies an enemy’s resolve.

The point is, sexual issues do affect a military unit, and powerfully so. Opponents of fags in the military correctly point out that military personal are often called upon to live and operate in extremely close quarters with shockingly little privacy. And no one should be in an unchangeable situation of having to expose themselves before someone who might regard them in a sexual way. Furthermore – and perhaps most importantly – there will come a day when someone will claim that some injured fag serviceman was allowed to die of injuries only because he was a fag. Or some fag service member will claim that he was put into enhanced danger only because he’s a fag. The result will be that when fags are put into a unit, the straight unit members, that is, the normal unit members will have to go out of their way to keep the fags happy enough that they won’t make claims homophobic hate crimes. Don’t tell me it won’t happen. That’s part of the problem with accommodating protected classes of people. Back in 2001, an American spy plane collided with a Chinese fighter plane, forcing the spy plane to make an emergency landing in China. None of the American crew was injured. But the Chinese took advantage of the opportunity to disassemble that spy plane and thereby gather a treasure trove of intelligence. Normally in such a case, the pilot would have the option - some would say the obligation - to ditch the plane, intentionally crash it to keep it out of enemy hands. But in this case, the pilot didn’t have that option, because of a law that says a plane or a vessel can’t be scuttled if there are women aboard. Women are a protected class. We don’t know whether or not the pilot would have crashed the plane to keep it out of our enemy’s hands. But we do know that the Chinese military, our enemy, benefited from a law that protects a certain class of people. And you better believe that fags in the military will benefit from similar protections – and so will America’s enemies.

Fantastic observations, as always.
