The Bible is very clear that married people are to love and enjoy one another in the natural way.

Here’s the ESV translation of 1 Cor 7:5

Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

Here’s what Matthew Henry’s Commentary says about it:

II. He informs them that marriage, and the comforts and satisfactions of that state, are by divine wisdom prescribed for preventing fornication (v. 2), Porneias--Fornications, all sorts of lawless lust. To avoid these, Let every man, says he, have his own wife, and every woman her own husband; that is, marry, and confine themselves to their own mates. And, when they are married, let each render the other due benevolence (v. 3), consider the disposition and exigency of each other, and render conjugal duty, which is owing to each other. For, as the apostle argues (v. 4), in the married state neither person has power over his own body, but has delivered it into the power of the other, the wife hers into the power of the husband, the husband his into the power of the wife. Note, Polygamy, or the marriage of more persons than one, as well as adultery, must be a breach of marriage-covenants, and a violation of the partner’s rights. And therefore they should not defraud one another of the use of their bodies, nor any other of the comforts of the conjugal state, appointed of God for keeping the vessel in sanctification and honour, and preventing the lusts of uncleanness, except it be with mutual consent (v. 5) and for a time only, while they employ themselves in some extraordinary duties of religion, or give themselves to fasting and prayer. Note, Seasons of deep humiliation require abstinence from lawful pleasures. But this separation between husband and wife must not be for a continuance, lest they expose themselves to Satan’s temptations, by reason of their incontinence, or inability to contain. Note, Persons expose themselves to great danger by attempting to perform what is above their strength, and at the same time not bound upon them by any law of God. If they abstain from lawful enjoyments, they may be ensnared into unlawful ones. The remedies God hath provided against sinful inclinations are certainly best.

Actually, all of 1 Cor 7 is of interest to those pondering marriage.

God bless,
Laurel

Gosh, willyrobinson.

Perhaps that post was a little TMI (too much information)? Don’t want to offend you, but traditional Christian doctrine reserves sex for marriage…

Men are naturally disposed to be leaders, however, and women tend to fall into line without realizing it when they trust a man’s leadership abilities, in many areas of life. Women may say that’s not true, but I see it demonstrated on a daily basis among my students.

I don’t want to know about the details of their “personal” lives, however.

God bless,
Laurel

Who said I was a “traditional Christian”? Certainly not I.

We will keep that in mind.

Laurel and willyrobinson,

I don’t care if one is a “traditional Christian” or not; fornication should be opposed for reasons of hygiene and common sense and especially by anyone who claims to be pro-white or wants to preserve European culture and folk. The cult of fornication is a major cause of miscegenation, without fornication a very high percentage of miscegenation would not be happening. Of course morality alone is good enough reason to demand chastity.

Faust:

Amen to all of your post.

willyrobinson:

Kinism.net does not promote a culture of sexual activity outside of marriage. Fornication and adultery are forbidden by God.

Call us prudish if you like; there are excellent reasons, as Faust helped define, for prudishess.

I don’t call you prudish. Are you suggesting that to suggest an opinion in the contrary of that view is forbidden here?

I am conscious of where we are and what sort of society we live in. I would vote for one such as that surely, but neithr do I think both male & female have the same obligations so far as sexuality is concerned. Had I a chaste woman then I would be willing to wait. If I come across someone who isn’t...they will POSSIBLY be able to learn and perhaps something will develop - but if not then she will have at least been good for something. I don’t see how this is anyone’s problem or concern but my own. Does it not say that if a woman becomes pregnant of a man then he shall honor her and take her as his wife? Have there not been in many occasions men who have taken more than one wife even those we look to?

Nehemiah 13 speaks of Solomon taking wives of foreign extraction and says this was his sin, not taking multiple wives or women as his own. Even proverbs 5 speaks of a foreign woman enticing a man and him being lead about by her. This is warning again against the roles being reversed and against foreign women et cetera.

A gentleman treats all women as if they were ladies, and does not take advantage of those he finds are not.

In the Bible’s Old Testament, multiple wives/concubines were the cause of much suffering for folks like Abraham, David, and, of course, Solomon. The New Testament encourages marriage to one wife, in fact, that is a requirement for an elder of the church.

Just because people have a sin nature doesn’t mean we choose to encourage it.
