Hi,

Since we have a long weekend coming up, I thought it would be great if a friend and I could tour Virginia, and see some of the great Confederate historical sites.

I’m hoping to go up 95 and visit the Stonewall Jackson shrine, head south to Richmond and then on to Appomattox. I hope to go to church somewhere in Lynchburg, and then finish up with a trip to Lexington to visit the graves of Jackson and Lee (and their horses) perhaps I could leave lemons for Jackson and an apple for Stepper.

Does anyone know of anything I should make a point to see this weekend? I’d LOVE to find a battle reenactment on Saturday as well, but I can’t find one taking place this weekend.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great…even suggestions of great historical or interesting places to eat.

Thanks a lot for any suggestions!

Shotgun,

Never been there and don’t know the area, but you should take a look at this site.

Probably too cold for reenactments right now; brrrrr….

I’ve never been to VA either, but your itinerary sounds like one I’d like to travel some day.
