Top 10 California Elementary Schools

The top ten are predominately Asian in demographics, with small numbers of Whites and much fewer numbers of African-Americans and Hispanics. Number 7, West Hillsborough School, has more Whites than Asians, tiny amounts of other races.

Worst 10 California Elementary Schools

The worst scoring elementary school in CA is 100% Hispanic. The second worst is LA County’s Special Education program, ethnically mixed, but students with academic challenges to begin with. Third worst is a school for the deaf. Fourth, 99% Hispanic, as is the fifth. Sixth, mostly Black and Hispanic. Seventh, Hispanic. Eighth, a very small school, mostly White. Ninth, mostly African-American or Hispanic. Tenth worst is a Home Hospital school for very ill children, mostly Hispanic.

While there are divergences from the norm here and the inclusion of physically and intellectually challenged students kind of skews the data, there’s a pretty obvious ethnic pattern emerging.

Interesting.
