Hi folks,
We’ve recently had an up-tick in interest in Kinism, and as a consequence we’ve also had an increase in spam attempts. As a result, I’m having to tighten our policy on new memberships to post in the forums, as the bad guys have begun to use the information fields in the membership signup form to post spam links or worse. We’ve always screened for these things pre-membership, but the spammers have gotten wise and now wait to post their trash until after their membership has been approved.
Therefore, effective immediately, I will automatically decline applications to post in the forums submitted through the registration process. Rather, prospective members will need to send an email to wmgodfrey (a)(t) kinism (d)(o)(t) (n)(e)(t) containing a paragraph about their background and making a formal request to post in the forums. Any member who, subsequent to their approval, posts spam links (as defined in our spam policy posted at the top of this forum) will be IP blocked permanently.
We appreciate your cooperation/understanding.
Yours,
John Marshall
